Dear Dr. Degner,
Approximately 18 months ago, you performed the TPLO surgery on my 2 yr. old yellow labrador retreiver, who at the time was making great progress in running hunt tests. His name is Zeke the Wonder Dog. You may remember that he was a "wild man" in your office and you were worried that I would let him destroy your brilliant work, and it was brilliant.
I am happy to say that after 18 months, he is still doing fantastic. Not once has he shown any sign of the injury. I was worried if he would be able to walk right again, and you sent him and I back to hunting in the toughest conditions in Northern Michigan and competing/winning in hunt tests & trials.
On September 9th, 2006, Zeke obtained his "Finished" championship title in the HRC. This is a big accomplishement for us, and I owe it all to you. HRCH Zeke the Wonder Dog has a nice ring to it. I am delighted to obtain his championship, but more importantly, I am so thankful that I still get to watch one of the greatest athletes I have ever witnessed do what he does best. When I tell people about the surgery and our comeback, and they see him action, they can't believe it. Thank you for this gift!
I have stepped up our website quite a bit, and our story is under "Zeke's Comeback." Zeke and this story has also been the feature of a retreiver training newsletter, and he is included in a e-book on dog owners and their experiences with coming back and rehabbing from surgery. The editor told me that Zeke easily had the most successful comeback in the entire book.

I am bound and determined to make a MTV video showcasing Zeke in action. When its completed, I will send it your way.
Thanks again,
Mike
